Exploring New York City: Central Park

Central Park is New York City’s slice of nature. The honking and yelling that you normally hear on the streets is [sort of] drowned out by all of the green and trees you are surrounded by. Suddenly you don’t feel like you’re in New York City anymore.

Throughout the park there is so much to do and to see. Central Park spans from 60^th Street to 110^th Street between 5^th Avenue and 8^th Avenue. If you’re not really familiar with New York City, let’s just say that is HUGE.

Aside from your usual park activities like picnics, flying kites, playing sports, etc., you can take a walk around the park and see some incredible works of art. On a snowy day in January, I did just that. I only explored 60^th to 86^th, so this is not a comprehensive list of what is in Central Park or even between 60^th and 86^th.

Keep in mind what I saw was just a little of what is hiding inside that green space in the middle of Manhattan. I also didn’t include every single statue or monument, just a couple of my favorite and the most popular. I’ll cover more of Central Park next time!
